MEET THE
DREAM TEAM
M.E. Wellness Care & Aesthetics is a full service aesthetic, weight loss and wellness clinic established in 2023. M.E. Wellness was inspired by Carrie Wales, APRN who had started her own wellness and aesthetics business but wanted to expand services as well as focus more on patient care, holistic wellness, bioidentical hormones and weight loss.
how we became M.E.

She believes that optimal health and natural beauty is within everyone, and she is excited to meet you and find out how she can help enhance yours.
Liz Douglas, RN, BSN
ACLS and BLS certified through the American Heart Association. Basic Botox and dermal filler certification and advanced Botox and dermal filler certification through Aesthetic Medical Educators Training. I graduated from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I have been in the nursing field for over 20 years. My nursing career started in critical care, working on the intensive care unit, later transitioning to pre and post operative care. I was then given the opportunity to work with a highly skilled plastic and oral maxillofacial surgeon. This has given me a deeper understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the face, allowing me to accurately assess & target specific areas for enhancement and safely administer injectables such as neurotoxins and dermal fillers. ME Wellness Care and Aesthetics is a group of people whose mission is to leave you feeling and looking your best with a sense of tranquility and balance. I am fortunate to be a part of such a great team. You can find me in the EMsuite running the EMSculpt neo, EMFace, EMTone and Exion machines. I am also here for all your skincare and injectable needs! Neurotoxins and dermal fillers, chemical peels, medical grade skincare, microneedling, and more!
Tara Meyer, RN BSN/Co-Owner
With 22 years of nursing experience in oncology and intensive care, I have been employed in the medical field since age 15. I graduated from UNMC College of Nursing in Omaha in 2002 where I met my husband Jay. During Jays three-year residency in Ohio, I worked as an RN in intensive care. We moved back to Lincoln in 2005 and have two kids, Avery and Ashton. I worked as an Oncology nurse for 17 years here in Lincoln until recently when we met Carrie Wales, APRN, and stumbled upon her amazingness. When we bought her practice with the Johnson's in 2023, I started to work with her wellness patients in clinic and since then have been trained on all of our Emsuite devices here at M.E Wellness Care and Aesthetics. If you have met Carrie and our team, you can see why I would choose to work at M.E. The combination of working in wellness and aesthetics comes with a broad range of evidence-based medicine. Working alongside a physician, physician assistant and a very passionate nurse practitioner brings our clinic to another level of care for our patients.
Lindsay Brunssen,
CMA/MA/Phlebotomist
I worked in pathology at STE, compounding pharmacy tech, MA at NHO. At ME I draw blood, assist with pellet insertion, administer injections, and work alongside Carrie. I like to work at ME because of the awesome coworkers as well as the type of work we do. It’s very rewarding to see patients better themselves with our help.
Nicole Mertens, RN/BSN
I have been a nurse for 20 years. But I have been working in the medical field for close to 30 years. The majority of my nursing career has been working at the bedside, taking care of critically ill patients, in a cardiac hospital. I chose to work at ME, as needed, to see a different side of the medical field. I will be helping with injections and lab draws. The staff at ME made my decision to work here, easy! The team here is amazing!
Emily Werner
Emily is a Medical Assistant and has worked in the medical field for 13 years. She’s Carrie’s right hand gal and is your first point of contact when you enter the spa. Emily will get you set-up with everything you need when you arrive and make sure you’re comfortable. Outside of the spa, Emily is a boy mom to two and loves summer activities like swimming, boating, and visiting the lake. She also enjoys reading, gardening, going to concerts and binging tacos and sushi.
Lisa Johnson, MPA-C/Co-Owner/Office Manager
Lisa is a board-certified Physician Assistant with 19 years of experience in the medical field in the areas of family medicine, pediatrics, emergency medicine (for the past 15 years), and now she is the co-owner and a provider at both MedElite Urgent Care and ME Wellness Care & Aesthetics. Lisa uses her medical knowledge and commitment to her profession to provide patients with holistic care alongside Carrie Wales, APRN, our main provider at ME Wellness. It is truly amazing as a medical provider to see the before and after results that our patients encounter after successful treatment plans that Carrie personalizes for each of them. I love that we offer so many medical treatments for every area of concern for our patients which includes medical weight loss(including prescriptions), bio-identical hormones, incontinence treatments, tightening and toning problem areas with our EMSUITE technology, skin care (including microneedling), Botox and facial peels to name a few. As a provider, I love working with Dr. Meyer, Carrie Wales, APRN and the entire staff at ME Wellness Care & Aesthetics to bring the newest and best result driven treatments to our patients so that we can be at the forefront of the Wellness & Aesthetics business. Bonus: I get to work with my husband Jeremy, who co-owns and manages the business aspect of ME Wellness with me, and I also get the pleasure of working alongside co-owners, Dr. Meyer and his wife, Tara, who is an RN that sees patients and manages ME Wellness. With our highly trained amazing staff here at ME Wellness Care & Aesthetics, there is no “I” in team, but there is a “ME” and at ME Wellness, we strive to provide a team-based approach to optimize YOUR results!
Jay Meyer, MD ABEM/Co-Owner/Medical Director
Jay is a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician with 22 years of experience. He serves as a Principal Investigator for Velocity Clinical research overseeing several studies a year and works full time in the Beatrice Community Hospital emergency room. Jay is the Medical Director at ME Wellness and Aesthetics and works closely with our main provider Carrie Wales, APRN. Carrie and Jay combined love to keep up to date on the most current research and evidence-based medicine and technology in wellness and aesthetics. Jay is very impressed with Carrie's complete dedication to her patients and their goals. The "medical doctor in Jay" is most excited about the amazing results with weight loss and all the health benefits associated with that along with the confidence building and personal satisfaction of the patient.
Dorota Heckman
I have been a nurse for 24 years at the Beatrice Community Hospital. In that time I have worked on medical surgery, post partum, taking care of pediatrics, ICU and most currently in the Emergency room. I have also done some outpatient clinic and medical studies. I have certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP and TNCC I decided to apply to ME Wellness & Aesthetics because the nursing aspect is one of clients wanting to better themselves from the inside to the outside. My role at the hospital has been dealing with current illness, acute emergencies and chroinc health . At MeWellness I get to help people achieve a better version of themselves and educate on how to continue to promote better habits for themselves to maintain their health goals. I also enjoy the entire family of ME Wellness. We all have a single goal, to help our clients succeed and feel their best.
Saylar Osentowski
Hi! I'm Saylar! I'm a medical assistant here at M.E. Wellness Care and Aesthetics. I've been a licensed CNA for two years, and have recently earned my Medication Aide license. I'm currently taking online classes to earn my BSN. The strong team of women who run M.E. daily was a major reason as to why I joined the team. Not only is the work environment at M.E. uplifting, I'm surrounded by people who care about each individual patients wellness journey!
Current owners, Dr. Jay & Tara Meyer and Jeremy & Lisa Johnson decided to use their combined medical and business experience to collaborate with Carrie to start what is now known as: M.E. Wellness Care & Aesthetics. The “M.E.” in our name stands for “Med Elite” because our medical providers strive to be at the forefront of the newest and most advanced technology and evidence-based treatments to offer our patients. We also chose to abbreviate Med Elite to “M.E.” as a play on the word ‘me’, as we want each patient to know this experience is all about “ME” from the moment they walk in our doors throughout every step of their personalized treatment experience.
We have created a place for you to come to enhance your health and natural beauty all in one place at M.E. Wellness Care and Aesthetics.
